Cobb County Motorcycle Accident Attorneys

At Jones & Swanson, our specialty practice area is that of Georgia automobile accidents. Automobile crashes can involve a variety of vehicles, including cars, trucks, SUVs, tractor trailers, bicycles, and motorcycles. Perhaps the most dangerous metro-Atlanta crashes involve motorcycles. Due to the minimal protection surrounding motorcycle riders, seemingly insignificant crashes can lead to serious injuries and even death. Unfortunately, motorcycle crashes are becoming more common in the state of Georgia. From 2004 until 2008, fatalities from motorcycle accidents increased by a shocking 59 percent. The counties most affected by motorcycle fatalities are those in and around Atlanta and Marietta.

Just yesterday, a motorcycle crash was reported on Cobb Parkway. At approximately 10:35 P.M., a Mazda Millenia driver was traveling northbound and attempted to turn left onto White Avenue. Unfortunately, the driver turned in front of a 56 year old man traveling southbound on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. The motorcyclist was unable to prevent colliding with the Mazda and crashed into the front right of the passenger car. The cyclist was taken to nearby Well Star Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, but did not survive the crash.

Unfortunately, motorcycle accidents such as this cause wrongful deaths very often in Georgia. Although it is important for motorcyclists to take the proper precautions to protect themselves, it is also important for other drivers on Georgia roads to exercise extra care in case a motorcycle is near. "Look Twice, Save a Life" bumper stickers are becoming more common as more family members attempt to protect their loved ones that operate a motorcycle. Motorcycles are much harder to see than larger vehicles, so we urge Georgia drivers to check twice before changing lanes, turning, or making any other movements with your vehicle. If every Georgian commits to looking twice, perhaps the number of serious injuries and wrongful deaths caused in motorcycle crashes can be reduced.

If you or someone you love have been seriously injured or lost their lives in a motorcycle accident due to another driver's negligent, it is important that you seek legal counsel. Attorneys Andrew W. Jones and Chase Swanson have represented many motorcyclists and families of cyclists in the past and understand what it takes to represent victims of these types of claims.
