Some of the most favorable and addicting foods for many Americans include chips, such as Cheetos. They are inexpensive, tasty, and easy to consume. In recent years, companies have been producing spicy chips, such as Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. Unfortunately, these spicy snacks have been linked to stomach lining issues.
According to Medical Daily, emergency rooms and physicians have recently seen an increase in the number of visitors complaining of stomach and upper abdomen pain. More often than not, these complaints are coming from children and young adults. According to doctors, hot and spicy artificially flavored foods can cause ulcerations, erosions, gastritis, and peptic ulcer disease. These conditions can cause bloating, burning, vomiting, and general stomach pain.
Perhaps the most dangerous aspect of these spicy snacks is their addictive qualities. Children in particular tend to overeat when it comes to snacks, such as chips. While smaller quantities of spicy and hot snacks are not dangerous, children should avoid consuming large quantities. Many schools are going so far as to ban these types of snacks, due to their lack of nutritional value.
These dangerous associated with spicy, addictive snacks could potentially lead to lawsuits in the future. If a man can successfully sue McDonald’s for causing his obesity, it is believable that injuries as a result of eating too many Flamin’ Hot Cheetos or some similar product could lead to an injury claim against the manufacturer.
