This is Chase’s first appointment to the Rising Star list and has come after years of hard work and dedication to his clients. Only 2.5% of attorneys in Georgia receive this award every year, so it is a significant honor in the field of law. The selection process for both Super Lawyers list honors is quite extensive. First there are the nominations, which prohibits the attorneys from nominating themselves, as well as campaigning. They are nominated by a managing partner survey, peers, third party feedback, and by the Super Lawyer research team. Then there is independent research, which evaluates on twelve different factors of professional success and peer acknowledgment. The full twelve indicators are as listed:

- Representative clients
- Experience
- Honors/Awards
- Special licenses/certifications
- Position within law firm
- Bar and/or professional activity
- Pro bono and community service

The third step is peer evaluation, and this features the candidates with the highest point totals from the first two steps to then serve on what’s called the Blue Ribbon panel. Then comes the final selection and announcement.
