We have been having a great summer at J&S! With the Braves doing well, the World Cup games in Atlanta, and our client cases settling daily, it feels like there’s always something to cheer for. Between community outreach events, office parties, and birthday celebrations – we have been staying busy!
Fourth of July Pie Deliveries
Every Fourth of July, we hand-deliver a few dozen pies to our community partners as a thank you for their support. This year, we delivered over 100 pies, which were baked by Alpine Bakery in Woodstock. Stephanie’s Hearth & Grace also baked us loaves of star-spangled sourdough, and The Spirit Exchange Co. supplied us with America-themed plates and napkins.
We always appreciate our partners and local businesses. It is a privilege to be supported by them! This tradition is one of our favorites at Jones & Swanson because we get to celebrate not only our country, but also the thing that makes it great: the people and our community.
Teacher Appreciation Events
The first work week of May is Teacher Appreciation Week and we love supporting our amazing Marietta teachers!
J&S wanted to show our appreciation for all their hard work, so we hopped over to West Side Elementary School, MCAA Elementary School, and Marietta Middle School to bring the teachers appreciation gifts. We set up tables with various snacks, drinks, hand sanitizer, pens, notebooks, koozies, and a Braves Ticket giveaway sign-up sheet.
A 4th-grade teacher at MCAA was the winner of our giveaway and is all set to see the Braves play the Colorado Rockies in August! Go Braves! ⚾
Donations
Giving back to our local community is of major importance to the staff at Jones & Swanson. Because of this, it was a pleasure to pair up with The Cooper Firm for their School Supplies Drive for Cobb Kids in Need. This drive helps ensure that Cobb County foster kids can start school with all the supplies they need to succeed. Through the joint contribution of Jones & Swanson and The Cooper Firm, plus the generosity of our combined followers who contributed on social media, thousands of dollars in school supplies were raised – including book bags, headphones, calculators, and crafting supplies.
We are also excited for the Towne Lake Family Chiropractic annual food drive for local veterans! Every July, Towne Lake Family Chiropractic partners with the Cherokee County Homeless Veterans Program to help stock their pantry and support the heroes who served our country. This annual tradition is important to us so that we can give back to those who sacrificed so much for our safety and freedom. Please feel free to contribute as well by dropping off non-perishable foods, gas gift cards, and/or a monetary donation at 1000 Wyngate Pkwy #200, Woodstock, GA 30189.
Sponsorships
Every year, Jones & Swanson sponsors a Community Service Scholarship, a $2,500 award we created for students who have dedicated themselves to making a difference in their community. We do our best to foster our community and show up for our neighbors, so it is important to us to give back to those who hold the same principles. Our scholarship application is already closed for this year and we are on our way to choosing our winner! We ask our applicants to share their story through a short video essay, and each year we are impressed by the accomplishments of all our applicants. We want to be a part of supporting the next generation of community leaders, and this is one small way we live out that commitment.
The city of Marietta is celebrating their 40th anniversary by throwing a concert series on the Marietta Square. Once a month, from April to September, Glover Park hosts various bands for free! This series of free shows is able to be organized through community sponsorships, of which we are one! Please come out to any of the remaining shows:
- July 31st: Seven Bridges; Eagles Tribute Band (8 pm)
- August 28th: Kasper and The 911 Band; R&B and Pop Hits (8 pm)
- September 25th: Nashville Nation; Modern Country Hits (8 pm)
This year, Jones & Swanson was proud to serve as Putting Green sponsor at the Cobb County Bar Association’s annual Law Day Classic Golf Tournament. It was a beautiful day to spend time with members of our local legal community and we loved connecting with everyone who stopped to chat with us. Supporting events like these is how we stay engaged with the Cobb County community we’re honored to serve. We’re already looking forward to next year’s tournament!
Jones & Swanson is also proud to sponsor the Marietta Educational Garden Center’s Annual Cannon Ball Classic Golf Tournament at City Club Marietta in September. Proceeds from this tournament will go towards supporting the preservation of Fair Oaks, the historic 1850s home that serves as the headquarters of Marietta’s Garden Center. We’re honored to support an organization that has served Marietta for so many years, and we can’t wait to be out on the course with our sponsored team!
Giveaways
We love to do giveaways on our social media accounts! So far this summer, we have given away a Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and Fourth of July Braves ticket giveaway.
Our Mother’s Day giveaway included over $300 of goodies, including a limited-edition Owala water bottle, a pink Yeti cooler, a Starbucks gift card, and various self-care items. We conducted this giveaway on both our Instagram and Facebook!
In June, we sponsored a Father’s Day giveaway on our Cartersville Facebook account. The goodies in this giveaway included 4 Braves tickets, an electric neck fan, a blue Yeti cooler, and spices and sauces from a local shop called The Butcher on Whitlock.
Our Fourth of July Braves ticket giveaway was open to our J&S clients on our Cartersville Facebook account. Our winner was able to bring her husband and their two kids to their first-ever Braves game, which the Braves won 14 – 3! Go Braves!

Milestones
We’ve had a few anniversaries so far this year, including our wonderful office manager, Kelly, who celebrated her 10th year with us, and our incredible paralegal, Mary Jo, who celebrated her 25th year at Jones & Swanson! In June, our legal assistant, Kaitlyn, and our paralegal, Lauren, also celebrated their 5th anniversary at our firm. Over the summer, we’ve also celebrated another year with our paralegal, Carrie, our marketing director, Isabelle, and our legal assistant, Hannah! We love our team and are forever blessed to be surrounded by such smart, amazing people.
Office Parties
On the first day of summer, we had a sailing-themed office lunch with tons of summer snacks and desserts! Since then, we’ve had a few other office parties, like our Fourth of July potluck, where everyone brought a classic cookout food to pair with BBQ from our local favorite, Williamson Brothers on Roswell Road.
We also had a World Cup party on the day of the kickoff, where we tried all the limited-edition World Cup Lays chips (the Brazilian Garlic Sauce chips were the universally recognized favorite!), and each team member drew a different World Cup team to root for. The following week, we all went out to lunch and shared facts about our chosen country. Did you know England consumes over 100 million cups of tea every day?!
Wilson Update
Lastly, our office buddy has been having a great summer. He has spent every day running around, causing chaos, and devouring Pup-Cups! He is encouraging all readers to stay cool and stay safe this summer!
