All that is needed is your vehicle’s VIN number and it will direct you to a page showing all the necessary recalls needed and the severity of the issue. From there it will instruct you to contact your car’s manufacturer, and if they are unable to remedy the issue in a timely manner, then you will need to contact the NHTSA vehicle safety hotline.
Below we will list some of the latest important recalls that you, or someone you know who is driving these vehicles should be made aware of.
2023 Porsche Taycan And 2023 Audi E-tron Gt
From a total population of 6,676 vehicles throughout the United States, Porsche and Audi have sent out a recall on the 2023 e-tron GT, and the 2023 Taycan, including the variants of Turbo S and RS. Each vehicle has found issues with improper battery sealing, causing a potential fire risk. Owners of these vehicles are asked to take their vehicles to an authorized dealer to have a leak test performed on these batteries.
2019 And 2020 Volkswagen Jetta
From a total of 47,651 Volkswagen Jetta sedans, vehicles are experiencing an issue with the ignition switch where the switch’s polyfuse may fail, causing the risk of an accident. Owners will be notified VIA letter, scheduled for October 27th, that dealers will replace affected fuses for free. Drivers with the current warnings on their dash “Ignition switch off, safely stop the vehicle” followed by “Starter system faulty, please service vehicle” are those that are affected by this issue.
2018 Through 2022 Nissan Leaf
Nissan is recalling over 80,000 Leaf EVs in the United States over an issue with the vehicle’s control module software. This issue could cause sudden acceleration after leaving cruise control, or cause the electric motor to stop working while driving, causing a high risk of accident. Owners are required to take vehicles to their local authorized dealer to have the control software updated.
2021 Through 2023 Ford F-150
Ford is recalling over 870,000 F-150 pickup trucks from 2021-2023. Affected vehicles are experiencing a potentially malfunctioning parking brake. The electric brake can accidentally be activated due to a wiring issue, leading to a potential accident. Owners should have been notified as of September 11th, 2023. In that notification, owners will be instructed to take their vehicles to their local authorized dealer to install a tie strap and tape wrap, or if necessary, will have to replace the rear axle wiring harness.
